PARTIAL DENTURE or PONTIC a.k.a. a "Flipper"
A Flipper is a false tooth to temporarily take the place of a missing tooth before the permanent bridge is placed. If you have a missing tooth, a bridge will be custom made to fill in the space with a false tooth; in the meantime, you may use a temporary bridge. This false tooth is attached within a retainer - bridging them together, sometimes called a flipper.
A Flipper can be attached via either a wire or a plastic piece that fits in the roof of your mouth. Flippers are meant to be a temporary solution while awaiting the permanent bridge. On your second appointment, the temporary bridge will be removed. Your new permanent bridge will be fitted and checked and adjusted for any bite discrepancies. Your new bridge will then be cemented to your teeth.
Partial dentures, are mainly used in the interim during bridge work. These are an excellent solution for making it appear that you're not missing any teeth!

ITA-7777 Click In (5 Teeth)
The "Click In" is ideal for teeth that you would like to cover along with teeth that are missing. with the "Click In" you simply snap the appliance in over the top of the existing teeth. It is very comfortable due to the no coverage of the palate and gums like our other partial denture. It is flexible yet incredibly strong and snaps in without any adhesive, it's simple, it uses your teeth for retention.
These are used solely to retain current tooth position. They're not designed to move teeth, only the Invisible Aligners are designed to move teeth.
Research shows that without long-term use of a dental retainer, teeth show a natural tendency to shift or drift away from their straightened position.
These "Invisible" retainers are made of a thin, clear, durable plastic that snaps into place over the teeth and prevents teeth rotation & migration.
When using this transparent dental retainer, teeth and gums show through the plastic, unlike the “Hawley” retainer (metal wire & denture plastic). When one smiles others are not able to see the dental retainer; mouth retainers with the wire across the front teeth are used mostly to keep teeth from shifting, but can also be used to move teeth. Dental night guards are worn at night to protect the teeth. Considerable time and financial investment are at risk if you don't have a retainer AND wear it as your doctor suggests.
The cost of these clear retainers at a dental office ranges from $400 to $500

When using this dental retainer, a metal wire shows, unlike the “Essix” retainer (which is clear or 'Invisible'). When one smiles others are able to see the dental retainer wire; retainers with the wire across the front teeth are used mostly to keep teeth from shifting, but can also be used to move teeth; That type is called a 'Hawley with Finger Springs'. Finger Springs are small clasps that add pressure to one side of the tooth, "moving" it along the retaining wire.
Retainers are used solely to retain/hold current tooth position. They're not designed to move teeth, only the Invisible Aligners are designed to move teeth.

UNTIL RECENTLY, customized SPORTS MOUTHPIECES were available to the public only through your dentist. This was largely due to the level of skill in taking one’s teeth impression, the impression required to cast a model and form customized SPORTS MOUTHPIECES. Most dentists send teeth IMPRESSIONS to dental labs (just like ours) to be cast and molded, & finally customized into form fitting SPORTS MOUTHPIECES delivered back to the patient a few days later. Typically, the cost for an upper or lower sports mouthpiece range between $400.00 and $1200.00!
